I just received my November 2017 CurlKit in the mail and I wanted to share with you guys what was in the box. I also wanted to share with you guys whether the box is worth the money.
So CurlKit is a company that sells a lot of natural hair products, but they also have a subscription box that they ship every month for $25 which includes the shipping. This is my second month of having CurlKit, but it is also my last because I honestly just purchased the subscription to see what items they had for me to try since I enjoy trying new things.
CurlKit automatically withdraws the $25 from your account every month unless you send an email to cancel the subscription. I received an email that the $25 was withdrawn October 30th. I also received an email November 12th that my box had shipped and I received the box today in a USPS bubble mailer.
If you don't feel like reading about what's in the CurlKit box, you can watch the video I made sharing what's in the box.

So let's jump into what was in the November 2017 CurlKit box.
CurlKit November 2017 Review |
This is how the wrapping usually is for the CurlKit box which is a nice touch.
CurlKit November 2017 Review |
The box always comes with a magazine booklet which shares information about every product that is in the box.
CurlKit November 2017 Review |
I was pretty excited when I opened my box considering I know for a fact that I do not own any of these items in this box.
Juice Organics Brightening Shampoo |
The first item in the November's CurlKit box was the Juice Organics Brightening Shampoo. It is supposed to enhance shine, brighten, and hydrate the hair with citrus and aloe juices. It is a certified organic shampoo which is pretty awesome. It is all naturaaal! I have never heard of this brand before so I am very excited to try it.
The Juice Organics Brightening Shampoo is $9.89.
Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Detangler |
The second item in my November CurlKit box was Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Detangler. I have heard good things about the Not Your Mother's brand, but I have never purchased any of their products before. I am definitely going to be using this a lot this month since I am always trying new detanglers to work on my 4c hair. I also am interested in trying this because the detangler is infused with grape seed, Jasmine, & olive oil.
The Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Detangler sells for $4.84 at Walmart.
Luster's Pink Castor Oil Nourishing Treatment |
The third item in the November CurlKit box is the Luster's Pink Castor Oil Nourishing Treatment. I have never used castor oil on my head before, but it is another thing that I have heard good things about to assist with moisturizing the scalp and promoting hair growth. I've never used this product before, but I was raised on the Luster's Pink brand. My mother used to use the Luster's Pink lotion on my hair all the time when I was a child.
The Luster's Pink Castor Oil Nourishing Treatment sells for $2.99 on Glamourtress's online website.
Creme of Nature Straight from Eden Plant derived Repairing Oil |
The fourth item in the November CurlKit box is the Creme of Nature Straight from Eden Plant derived Repairing Oil. I've never heard of this before, but I have used Creme of Nature before. I feel pretty indifferent about this product, but I am hoping I can have some good results from using it since it is supposed to soften hair and control frizz. Of course, whenever a product says that it never really controls my frizz the way I would like for it to. We shall see what happens though.
The Creme of Nature Straight from Eden Plant Derived Repairing Oil sells at Walmart for $7.66.
Hask Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Deep Conditioner packets |
The last thing in the November CurlKit box were two Hask Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Deep Conditioner packets. Each packet would be used once since I always use a lot of conditioner on my hair after shampooing it. I do not know if I will be able to get a decent review from using it twice though, but I'll see what happens and report back my thoughts on it.
These Hask Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Deep Conditioner packets sell for $1.99 each at Walmart.
Is the CurlKit Subscription Box worth buying?
Juice Organics Brightening Shampoo - $9.89
Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Detangler - $4.84
Luster's Pink Castor Oil Nourishing Treatment - $2.99
Creme of Nature Straight from Eden Plant derived Repairing Oil - $7.66
Hask Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Deep Conditioner - $1.99
Hask Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Deep Conditioner - $1.99
------
Total = $29.36
I paid $25 and received $29.36 worth of product which is an extra $4.36 difference.
If I am being honest with you guys, I would only suggest buying this box if you are a person who does not really buy new products and you are looking to just try something new. I would not suggest buying this box if you are an individual who tries new hair products a lot because you will probably already have most of these items. I know for me I do not buy a lot of hair products, but I kind of expected items that I could not really find at my normal Walmart, Rite Aid, or CVS. I liked the box because I do get to try a lot of products I've never tried before, but I know a lot of people have said that the boxes tend to either repeat certain brands or certain products. So I may get this box in the future, but for $25 right now it seems a bit too much for products I can easily find myself... I am canceling my membership since I just wanted to try it out for a month or two.
I hope you guys enjoyed the review and let me know if you guys are excited to try any of these products or your thoughts on any of the products menitoned in this post if you have tried them before.
