I have been waiting for the new season of The Vampire Diaries Season 8 to start ever since we saw Damon hear Elena's voice as he rushed into the tomb and Enzo went following behind him. The season 8 premiere definitely opened a new level of destruction considering I never thought they'd be able to come up with a villain that isn't some form of vampire, werewolf, witch, or traveler.
Here are my thoughts on what happened in Season 8 Episode 1 "Hello Brother."

Damon and Enzo are under some sort of mind control.
We ended up hearing Damon disclose that they were being controlled by something that wanted them to destroy horrible humans. They were constantly killing or half killing people and throwing their bodies into a pool of bloody water within an abandoned slaughterhouse. There is some sort of evil that wanted the worse of the worse bodies/souls and wanted to consume them. Damon and Enzo were aware of what they were doing, but they had no choice but to continue on killing regardless if they wanted to or not.

Alaric runs the armory.
Apparently Alaric is in control of the Armory now and he had his students observing the cave that the evil was once in. 2 of his students end up finding a secret passage that had a collection of old artifacts that Alaric is skeptical about touching. I can only assume that at least one of the artifacts within the tomb will be the key to destroying the evil that is controlling Damon & Enzo.

Stefan and Caroline are finally together.
I know I may receive some backlash for this, but eewww. I can not stand them being together for some reason, but they were frolicking in the sack (having sex in bed) and I still can not wrap my head around them being together.

Damon explained to Stefan that he saw hell and that Delena could never happen.
He expressed to Stefan that he is going to Hell and that Elena is going on to somewhere better. He thinks it's best for her to live her life without him because there is no saving him. He also expresses that the evil does not want Stefan to join their side yet and that it wants him to leave.

Bonnie doesn't have magic, but Enzo was leaving her clues.
Bonnie is feeling extremely helpless, but she realizes that even under the mind control Enzo was leaving her clues to where his and Damon location was. He also related the situation to the book "The Odyssey" by which discussed a topic of Sirens who we see at the end of the episode are actually real.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 1 "Hello Brother"
Virginia came after Caroline's children and tried to kill them... but before Caroline could question her about how the evil was coming for her children she died.
I figured that the children would have an important role.
Will there only be one siren or multiple? The possibility of it being more than one is a definite yes. I am curious about their origins and whether they have hopes for domination. I also wonder how they will be destroyed, but we can only assume that the Gemini twins will destroy the sirens.
Based on what Damon said, does this mean that all vampires will go to Hell now?
There is no Other Side, so where do vampires go now? I can only assume that Stefan and Damon will end up being killed at the end of the series. So does that mean they will go to Hell upon their demise? I would not be surprised if they killed Caroline and Enzo as well even though I am rooting for Enzo and Bonnie to be together considering Bonnie has went through so much throughout the series. Time will tell though.
