The last season of The Vampire Diaries is closing in on us which is bittersweet. I am excited to see what happens within the series considering we have been waiting about 4 months for new episodes, but I am also sad because this will be the last season of the series. There are a few things that I am still hoping that will happen considering the end of the series will most likely show us where all of the characters end up in life.
Here's what I am secretly hoping for at the end of season 8 of The Vampire Diaries.
Somehow Damon and Stefan being cured of vampirism.
Of course this is a long stretch. There is a little bit of the cure left that can be taken, but based on what we know about the cure... I wonder whether Damon will age the way Katherine aged when she digested the cure.
I would love to see the Salvatore brothers living as humans and possibly having their memories of their times of being a vampire erased, but I doubt that will happen.
I am still secretly rooting for Stelena even though it probably won't happen.
I know that we left Stelena in Season 4 practically, but I really wanted them to be end game. OF course, I know that they will probably not bring the story full circle back to them. It honestly would kind of be hard to considering how in love Elena and Damon were while Stefan and Caroline were still to an extent stuck on each other.
Matt finding his place in the supernatural world.
I'm hoping that Matt won't become a vampire because the gallant, charming human has always been a symbol of hope. However, I feel like Matt became a legitimate hunter considering how he captured his once upon a time vampire friends. I would hope that he finds happiness, settles down, and has his own children far away from Mystic Falls as well... However he probably won't leave with how passionate he has displayed himself as being dedicated to protecting Mystic Falls.
Alaric raises the children, but ends up meeting a nice human woman.
Alaric has had a horrible time within the love department. Every woman he has ever cared about died and left him in heartbreak time after time. It would be nice to see him raise his children beautifully and meet another single mom who he'd eventually fall in love with.
Bonnie getting her happily ever after and having love without having to sacrifice herself.
Bonnie has constantly died, come back to life, died again, and sacrificed her happiness for everyone. I hope that the writers do not kill her off for good. I'd love to see her and Enzo being happy together without having to be on the run or fighting evil, but where witches are... it seems like they always are caught in the middle of vampire mess.
The Return of Kai
I know for sure that this will not happen, but I would love for Kai to return. I really did not like the way that they killed his character off. He was the best villain that they had since Klaus. To some degree I really wanted to see him and Bonnie build something romantically together after a period of time passed, but that did not happen and most likely won't happen. It's nice to think about him coming back some type of way, sticking around, and crossing over to The Originals for some unknown reason though...
