The writers behind The Vampire Diaries have really stepped up their game this season. I am digging the flash forwards into the future. It makes me wonder about what happened in the 3 year time frame.

Please take this time to watch the show before reading my thoughts on the episode.
Okay let's jump into what we learned last week on The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 4 "Age of Innocence."
Firstly.... do you all understand the seriousness of the situation if Stefan burned his car???
He has always been very protective of that car and he burns it at the beginning
of the episode along with his journals and other personal belongs....except he keeps one specific journal and takes it with him.
Tyler is doing well...
I was kind of excited to see Tyler. He looks like he is in some metropolitan place like New York, cruising the streets. So we can assume we'll be seeing Tyler back on the show occasionally since he knows that Stefan should be running from whoever the killer archer woman is since his telltale "x" wound opened up.
Lily is searching for Julian, her lover.
Apparently the Salvatore mom was also a sucker for love, falling for the monstrous Julian. Seems like she can suuuuure pick 'em.
Stefan and Valerie dated ......
Lily had sent Valerie to Stefan about 2-5 years before either one of them became a vampire and they were very much into each other. I actually kind of liked them together in the flashbacks. They seemed so happy.
The Heretics explained that Lily technically just wants to feel like the mother.
I figured this as much. Lily wants to be the mother in charge since she wasn't the mother she could have been for Stefan and Damon. The Heretics want to have freedom, which means there is a possibility that they may turn on Lily at some point or leave her with Stefan and Damon to be reunited with her.
Stefan was almost a father.
Complete shocker! The entire situation of Julian beating Valerie halfway to death while she was pregnant was complete awful. I can see why she would go to such lengths to keep him away. When Stefan finds out, he is going to be devastated.
Valerie does not want to bring Julian back into their lives.
This is completely understandable. I am honestly kind of afraid to see what he is like as a vampire considering in the flashbacks we have only seen him as a witch... I'm assuming.
Bonnie, Damon, and Alaric or going to make attempts to bring Jo back from the dead. Bonnie found out Alaric still had the Phoenix stone and told him to never lie to her. She also agreed to help him bring Jo back to life even though it could possibly kill her.
Thing we can speculate
Lilian still wants to be close to Stefan and Damon in her own way. She still wants to connect with them and be in their lives.
Lily may do something with Elena's body since the other Heretic was killed by Valerie under Damon's threatening protection, which is completely unfortunate.
How was Julian not trapped with the other Heretics? I'm going to assume he was the reason why they were trapped in the prison world for so long.
Stefan still cares for Valerie... His first love before Katherine. I definitely think Stefan would still try to make things work with Valerie, even though Caroline is in the picture. I'd like to see what happens when Valerie and Stefan meet face to face officially, but I know he will be devastated to learn of what happened to Valerie and his baby.
Steroline isn't going to be end game. We found this out the episode before last because we found out that Caroline was upset to even hear from Stefan and we also learned that she was married too. Do you guys think Stefan will end up cheating on Caroline with Valerie at some point?
Things to think about
What is Julian? Is he a vampire? Another Heretic? Was he a wolf? If he was tagging along with Lily and the Heretics... he must have had some type power.
Also, is it possible that the hunter archer woman is Jo, Alaric's dead wife? I feel like it'd be awesome if it was.
Also, I'd like to say that I really liked Oscar. He seemed to be so open and cool. I would have liked to learn more about his family members that didn't accept him because he wasn't as closed off as the other Heretics. Too bad Valerie killed him though.
