I was super excited when I found out that I was able to try the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink lipstick. The lipstick is supposed to have a statement color that lasts up to 16 hours. I always love whenever I am able to try lipsticks with the claim of it being long lasting because I know having a long lasting lipstick is definitely something that a lot of us lipstick lovers look for. We also look for a lasting lipstick that doesn't transfer either... and I tried out this lipstick compliments of Influenster to evaluate the quality of this lipstick.
I was sent two lipsticks. There are 10 different colors to choose from, but I received the colors Lover (mauve) and Pioneer (red) from Influenster.
I tried Lover one day and then I tried Pioneer the next day. Here is what I found out within trying these lipsticks.
You are able to apply the lipsticks with a simple applicator, although to be honest it does take a while to put it on in my opinion. It isn't a quick swab. I found myself dabbing the lipstick on somewhat strategically, but you can opt for the use of a lipstick brush if you have one. Overall though it is easy to apply, but I ended up dabbing mine on instead of swiping since not a decent amount of product was coming off of it onto my lips.
It feels sticky when you apply it and after it has been on your lips for awhile. I applied it to my lips at 7:20 am and I still felt some stickiness up until around 7:38 am.
I looked kind of washed out with the color Lover 15, but I feel like if I had on some lip liner... It would look amazing. It is a pink color, but to me it looks like it has a slight darker tint like a mauve almost.
This lipstick stays put!!
I tried wiping it off with water and there was absolutely nothing coming off of my lips until I started genuinely scrubbing my lips to the point where they felt numb. You definitely have to use an oil based makeup remover to remove this lipstick because the struggle will be real.

Scent
The Lover (15) lipstick is a mauve color and I really like the way it smells. It smells like lipstick, but with a hint of some sort of candy like a Tootsie Roll.
The Pioneer (20) lipstick is a bright red color. It smells like pure lipstick which isn't a bad thing, but it doesn't smell like Lover. I do think the smell is a bit stronger that Lover though too.
Rating: 4 out 5 stars
The lipstick is not moisturizing which makes me not want to give it a complete 5 stars. I would suggest putting on some of your favorite lip balm before application to keep your lips hydrated. However the lipstick does last all day and the pigmentation of the lipsticks are extremely vibrant.
