It is exactly 8 more weeks, 2 months, or 56 more days until the premiere of Season 7 of The Vampire Diaries. I am kind of interested to see how Damon is going to go about handling this lifestyle without Elena who he has protected and cared for.. for the past 6 seasons. I decided to come up with some ideas of what could have happened if he did take the cure and also what could happen with him in season 7 of The Vampire Diaries.
Human Damon
What if Damon had actually gone through it with taking the cure?
It would have been interesting to see how he would cope with Elena being somewhat dead and whatnot. I mean, what type of occupation would he have had as a human? Where would he have lived then since Delena's plans of being together would have changed? Seeing Damon doing mundane tasks would have been hilarious, yet possibly depressing.

Vampire Hunter
This might be a stretch, but if Damon some how became a vampire hunter after turning human... that would have been interesting. Him and Alaric could go into business hunting vampires for a legitimate living. They could even get a spin-off show probably....
And of course we'd have to bring lil-Gilbert aka Jeremy, back to the show.

He turns it "off"
This is something that hasn't happened yet and he is the only main character that has not went through this process. Damon was always bad and we have all either loved him from the beginning or grew to love him, but Damon's humanity was NEVER turned off.
With that being said.... what if it was?

Damon joins forces with his..... mom?
This too would have been a bit of a reach since we know that Damon felt abandoned by his mother after finding out about her past. He didn't want anything to do with her. However it would have been interesting to see Damon in Enzo's place instead.. It has been said that Damon is going to be getting back to his old self considering Elena was the one that motivated him to not be so careless and reckless. With her being gone, the loyal hound may have slipped out of his leash of wholesome goodness.
Damon plays big brother/father to Sarah Salvatore
Damon still doesn't know about Sarah being alive after all of this time. He killed her mother while she was still in the womb. If it wasn't for Stefan, she would have been dead a long time ago. I am hoping that the writers of TVD are going to actually do something with her character because I actually like her and I think that this could create even more development for Damon. She would probably be reluctant, but he could help her reconnect with her dead parents by telling her everything that he knew about them and even taking their place as a guardian...even if she's a grown woman. There'd be a lot that they could do with their relationship.
Although to be honest, I feel like Sarah Salvatore might become a vampire at some point and Damon may have to help her cope with these changes.

Bamon
I doubt this will happen...and if it did happen, it wouldn't be for a long, long, long time. However we have seen the bond that Damon and Bonnie have made over the course of the show. They went from hating each other and even wanting to kill each other to protecting each other, in addition to caring for one another. The possibility of them hitting it off would be interesting, but I highly doubt they would do that considering Elena is Bonnie's best friend and Damon's true love.
New love interest next season?
I want to believe that Damon will probably not entertain the idea of being with someone else throughout season 7 of The Vampire Diaries which premieres Thursday, October 8th, but it is possible that at some point he may feel lonely and look towards a female companion for comfort. I doubt it though, but we'll see what happens.
With all of these ideas flying around in my head, I am really looking forward to see what happens with Damon.
