I am one of those people that has always had issues with dandruff. My scalp has always been excessively dry, in addition to it being hard to maintain moisture especially around this time of year. Flakes are my mortal enemy. I've tried tons of products to help with my dandruff, but to some degree they all required a bit of time to use and I don't really have that much time to focus on the dryness that is my scalp. lol However, I had the chance to try Head & Shoulders Moisture Care Collection, which is a new line of products from Head & Shoulders that helps keep hair dandruff free and moisturized. I was sent the Head & Shoulders Moisture Care 2-in-1 dandruff shampoo + conditioner, Co-wash, and their Scalp Soother in the textured edition to try out from BzzAgent. And to my surprise, this stuff actually works.
Head & Shoulders Moisture Care 2-in-1 dandruff shampoo + conditioner
I was skeptical of using this because whenever I wash my hair, I use a shampoo to wash my hair, then a conditioner that I comb through my hair and let it set for about 15 minutes. I decided to try it though because I was curious. I applied a generous amount of the product to my hair. The consistency of this was a combination of what a shampoo and conditioner would look like. It was a definite change of pace considering it usually takes me around 30 minutes to wash my hair which turned into 20 minutes using this instead.
Usually the day after I wash my hair, I unfortunately see dandruff showing its' way upon my head.. but this time, that didn't happen. I am assuming it is because of the Vitamin E rich Almond oil and the coconut essence within it. I usually would have to wash my hair every week, but now I wash it every 2 weeks and ever since I started using this 2 in 1 shampoo + conditioner... dandruff hasn't been an issue. My head was and is dandruff free, which I am happy about.
Head & Shoulders Moisture Care Scalp Soother
This is another one of their products that has been helping keep my scalp free from dryness. The scalp soother has a Peppermint oil complex and Vitamin E within it. I sprayed some of this all over my scalp and massaged it in. If you guys ever try this, your scalp is going to tingle like crazy. It feels weird, but amazing at the same time. I use it every 2-3 days on my scalp and I haven't had any peak-age of dandruff with using it. It also makes my hair smell soo good. It smells like a combination of peppermint and coconut.
I also wanted to say that I love the uniqueness of the bottle that it comes in because it has a different kind of spray cap and a special cover to keep the product from leaking out. The spray spout also makes it easier aim and use on my scalp.
I wouldn't suggest wearing this outside in the winter time because it does open up the pores in your scalp and that cold winter breeze on your head would be torture to your minty scalp.
Head & Shoulders Moisture Care Co-Wash
Within using this product... this was my first time ever doing a co-wash, which was interesting. If you guys don't know what a co-wash is... A co-wash is when you only wash your hair with a conditioner, which means no shampoo. I used this three times since I have received it and I could probably get away with using this twice a month if I didn't feel like legit washing my hair because it does do the trick of cleaning my scalp. It completely removes any sort of product build up and makes my scalp squeeky clean. The Head & Shoulders Moisture Care Co-Wash also has similar ingredients like the Head & Shoulders Moisture Care 2-in-1 dandruff shampoo + conditioner. It has Vitamin E rich Almond oil and the coconut essence within it.
Overall does the Head & Shoulders Moisture Care Collection get rid of dandruff?
It definitely does. I've used Head & Shoulders products before and they have always been great with washing dandruff out, but it was hard to maintain a dandruff free scalp afterwards. However, their Moisture Care Collection definitely does the trick of keeping the dandruff away. The almond oil and coconut essence within the 2-in-1 shampoo + conditioner and the co-wash really helps remove it, in addition to the scalp soother's incorporation of peppermint oil helps keep the scalp moisturized. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is having trouble with dandruff.
